Make Up artist & Hairstylist Milan
Rossella Semeraro
Who I am?
I am Rossella Semeraro, a professional makeup artist and hair stylist based in Milan. I have always been passionate about everything related to the world of beauty and style, so much so that I decided to turn my greatest passion into a profession. I attended the BCM Makeup School, Milan Estetica, and the Saasmam Hairstyling School, where I obtained the diploma as a Master of Art teacher.
Collaborations Over Time
Over the years, as a Make Up Artist based in Milan, I have collaborated with internationally recognized brands such as Shu Uemura, Yves Saint Laurent, Laura Mercier, Helena Rubinstein, and Kh Morgan. I have also had the pleasure of working as a makeup artist for various guests at the Venice Film Festival, where I had the honor of doing makeup for Helen Mirren and Jane Alexander.
My Approach as a Makeup Artist in Milan
I enjoy enhancing my creative side every day through experimentation and stylistic research for extensive projects. These projects involve different types of makeup looks, ranging from those for future brides to complete stylistic consulting for fashion and jewelry brands and companies (I have collaborated with Calvin Klein, Swarovski, Cotonella, Gusella). I believe that beauty is not just something external but has a deep connection with our inner selves. A carefully studied and personally created look will make one’s character, allure, and confidence shine.
Steps in My Work
To achieve the final result, I start with careful observation of the client’s face and its distinctive features. Every face has unique characteristics and particular traits that need to be highlighted. To reach the final result, I study a lot, considering how to enhance features such as freckles or an Oriental eye shape.
I am not interested in copying a makeup look that is currently trending in a fashion magazine, as it may not be suitable for the client or may seem out of place for a specific occasion. Copying a makeup look doesn’t require targeted study or the signature of a makeup artist, both of which I value and include in every look I create.
The Makeup Artist as an Artist
Being a hair and makeup artist and beauty consultant is like being an artist for me. It requires observing every detail, nuances, facial morphology, light, and imagining the final result to ensure that the subject shines with their meticulously created style.
The Psychological Aspect of the Job
My work also includes a significant psychological aspect: many more things can be understood from the characteristics of a face than you might imagine. My calm yet decisive and tranquil character also conveys serenity to women about to get married. A makeup artist is also a confidant: when face to face, secrets are often revealed to me, which I will never disclose!
To Get to Know Me Better…
When I’m not armed with pencils, lipsticks, brushes, and clips, you’ll find me (mostly) on hiking trails. I am passionate about travel, love outdoor sports, and am curious about the different cultures, habits, and traditions of people. I have spent time in England, South Africa, Brazil, and India, realizing over the years the belief that each of us has something special within and that, with my contribution, can be shown and shared in the special moments of life.
